Bringing Census Records to Life

Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore hired me to design ways to share library collections with visitors. Using a cart positioned in the Great Hall of the Library, I invited visitors to look at collection items and talk about what they knew. Visitors shared such compelling stories, I said to myself, “You have to encourage them to write down their stories.”
