Script for a Solo Trip

An Itinerary at Your Fingertips

The script was an itinerary that combined good, down-to-earth research in a bulleted, accessible format. Some details reflected things that were important to me. It contained information such as:

  1. Language phrases for different situations
  2. Pages for drawing and recording memories
  3. Restaurants that served vegetarian meals
  4. Maps and directions for destinations
  5. Train ticket information
  6. Phone numbers for hotels and attractions
  7. Museum admission and hours of operation
  8. Pictures of building facades so I knew when I arrived at destinations
  9. Recommendations from friends and travel experts such as Rick Steves

The objective of the script was to build confidence in my ability to handle situations. For example, while English is widely spoken in Paris, I used French phrases from my script to initiate a search for my lost luggage at Charles de Gaulle Airport.  I never coughed up French words so fast in my life.
